SCIENCE STANDARD 5 : MiCrooRgAniSm

Assalamualaikum w.b.t & a very good evening,

The first topic in Primary 5 Science is MICRRORGANISM.

Followed are the pictures of two experiments conducted in my class in the beginning of year 2012.

Growth of microorganisms ( patches of fungi) on orange skin.

the oranges were left in the lab at room temperature for 4 days.

These are the pictures of the oranges taken on the 4th day of experiment.

observation : bigger size of fungi patches could be seen on the skin day by day

conclusion : microorganism grow

Another experiment was regarding 'microorganisms breathe'

4 beakers of same size of dough were added with 1/2 tablespoon of yeast,1 tablespoon of yeast,2 tablespoon & 3 tablespoon respectively.

observation : the more yeast added to the dough the higher it risen

conclusion : microorganisms breathe( produce air bubbles, the dough risen)
